The Late Late Toy Show-Gay Byrne Tribute
In November 2019, Ireland lost one of its greatest ever broadcasters
with the passing of Gay Byrne. In honour of Gay, RTÉ broadcast a
special Late Late Show celebrating his legacy. The special episode
of The Late Late Show featured interviews with guests who had
special memories of Gay Byrne and footage from his many decades
of broadcasting. The show was watched by over 665,800 (Individual
4+, Consolidated) people, a testament to the impact Gay Byrne had
on the Irish people.
